A bride-to-be’s bachelorette party was ruined after she was allegedly assaulted by a stranger while waiting for a ride outside a Texas nightclub.

Canada Rinaldi, 27, suffered a concussion, a broken nose, three chipped teeth and required eight stitches to her face in an attack on Saturday night — just a month from her wedding, GoFundMe page said.

The attacker came from behind.

“So I remember walking towards the back of the car, and then I remember waking up in an ambulance,” Rinaldi told local Fox affiliate KDFW. “That’s all I remember.”

Kirsten McDowell started the fundraiser to cover hospital expenses. She was among the group of friends who were celebrating Rinaldi’s upcoming marriage.

“Just 24 hours earlier, she had told us she was having ‘the best trip of her life,”” McDowell wrote. “That happiness was ripped away from her in an instant, turning it into the most terrifying and traumatizing night she’s ever experienced.”

Rinaldi, who lives in Oklahoma, racked up $10,000 in medical bills, McDowell said. She continues to recover and is hopeful her injuries will be cleared up by the time her wedding comes around.

“It’s just shocking,” she told Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA. “It’s hard to believe. I feel like a lot of my experiences were taken away from me.”

Meanwhile, the suspect remains at large. She told WFAA she didn’t know the man, nor did she understand why he attacked her. Her bridesmaid, Kelly Peralta, said in an interview with the TV station that she tried to intervene and ended up getting punched herself.

A young man in upstate New York is heading to prison for strangling a childhood friend of his at a private birthday party he threw for her at an Airbnb — complete with cake, new sneakers for gifts and miniature wine bottles with the words “I love you” written on them, according to police and prosecutors.

Video footage, which was first obtained by the local NBC affiliate WSTM, shows 21-year-old Jhon Chacaguasay-Ilbis — who was handed a sentence of 23 years to life in prison Monday — walking into a Syracuse Airbnb on June 18, 2024, with the victim Joselyn Toaquiza, 21, and then exiting with her lifeless body. The young man pleaded guilty to strangling Toaquiza with an unknown object before driving her to a local park and dumping her body in a shallow grave, according to Onondaga County prosecutors and Judge Ted Limpert, who condemned Chacaguasay-Ilbis for his “unimaginable” crimes at his sentencing, which was covered by Syracuse.com.

“This crime is really inexplicable,” Limpert said.

An elementary school principal and third grade teacher in Florida are facing criminal charges for throwing a “white lie party” where more than 100 kids age 13 to 17 — including one that got a DUI — were caught drinking alcohol and wearing T-shirts with a “white lie” written on them, according to police.

Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, a former teacher of the year and current principal of Roosevelt Elementary School, was arrested and charged as the owner of the home where the house party was allegedly held in Cocoa Beach. Karly Anderson, the third grade teacher, was allegedly at the party and drinking along with the youths, with the Cocoa Beach Police Department reporting her as being intoxicated.

“It’s absolutely inappropriate just on its face, and it’s even more inappropriate considering these people’s standing in the community,” Detective Sgt. Taylor Payne told local Fox affiliate WFOL.

A woman in Indiana heading to a birthday party with her sister and a 6-year-old girl, as well as several others, allegedly killed the pair on the way there — flipping and rolling her SUV into a ditch — while driving at speeds over 100 mph, cops say.

Judge resigns after this alleged response to uninvited party guests

A New York judge has agreed to resign and never against seek judicial office after she was accused of engaging “in a racially offensive, profane, prolonged public diatribe” stemming from a graduation party fight in which her son was injured.

Judge Erin P. Gall of New York’s trial-level supreme court in Oneida County, New York, revealed her decision in a motion filed Wednesday with the New York Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court, report Law.com, the New York Times and the Times Union.

Gall said her two sons had received several death threats after the incident resulted in national news coverage, and “the fear has been immeasurable and terrifying. I do not believe that I can move forward with arguing this appeal for fear that my family will be put in danger once again.”

Gall was accused of threatening to shoot four Black teenagers if they returned to the property to look for lost keys following the July 2022 high school graduation party. She also allegedly told a police officer that her son would be going to business school in the fall, whereas the four Black teens “don’t look like they’re that smart. They’re not going to business school, that’s for sure.”

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct had sought removal from office in a July 17 determination.

The problems began after several people thought to be uninvited guests arrived at the party sometime after 11 p.m., and one of them overturned a tray of food, according to the commission. People were talking loudly, some using vulgarities, and confrontations were escalating. Gall’s husband and then-18-year-old son began shepherding guests away from a tent and to the street.

At some point, Gall’s son was slapped and brought to the ground, where he was “kicked, punched, stomped on and beaten by a group of uninvited unknown individuals,” Gall said in her reply to the ethics charges.

Gall, who is white, yelled at the four Black teens to leave, telling them that she was a judge. She also identified herself as a judge when police arrived. She “repeatedly invoked her judicial office, threatened gun violence, and both criticized and pledged favored treatment for the police,” the commission had alleged.

Gall is asking the New York Court of Appeals to make no specific findings other than removal to avoid exposing her family to more danger.

“I certainly do not think it fair to characterize my reactions as racially motivated and to stigmatize me with that finding based on the facts in the case,” she added.

Five teenagers and a 20-year-old man have been indicted in the murder of a 16-year-old boy beaten and left for dead on an Arizona road after a Halloween party amid a wave of teen violence.

In announcing the arrests in the October killing of Preston Lord of three men, ages 18, 19 and 20, and three 17-year-old boys, Maricopa County Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell said evidence includes 600 pieces of video, and talked about the family’s agony as the investigation remains ongoing.

“The loss of a child is unimaginable for most of us, but to live it is a whole new level of horror,” she said.

In a statement, Preston’s family expressed gratitude to community members who provided information to secure the arrests.

“But for law enforcement’s collective efforts and community members’ invaluable cooperation, these arrests would not have happened,” the statement said. “Each arrest represents a step towards accountability and justice for our son Preston.”
