A patient at a Kentucky hospital became so enraged at the discharge process taking too long that she allegedly choked a nurse.

Mykeisha Johnson, 35, was a patient on the third floor at the University of Louisville Hospital and was set to be discharged on Saturday when she was allegedly getting annoyed with how long the process was taking. When a nurse who happened to be making her rounds at the time walked past her room, Johnson pounced.

According to a police report obtained by local Fox affiliate WDRB, surveillance video showed Johnson choke the nurse, slam her to the floor and repeatedly punch her in the face. Staff eventually pulled Johnson off the nurse.

Johnson reportedly said the nurse had nothing to do with her prolonged wait, but she was “the first person available.” The nurse went to the emergency room with pain in her neck, back of her head, leg, abdomen and shoulder. Though she never lost consciousness during the attack, she said she was “in shock and didn’t remember everything,” the affidavit reportedly said.

The hospital released the following statement to local media outlets:

“UofL Health does not tolerate any violence or abuse against its staff, patients, or visitors. LMPD has made an arrest and is handling the investigation. Our employee was treated and released.”

A respiratory therapist at a Missouri hospital filmed his female co-workers using the bathroom using a pen with a hidden camera built into it, he admitted as part of a plea agreement.

Gabrielle Vanriette, 40, pleaded guilty on Feb. 27 to invasion of privacy. According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, cops responded to the North Kansas City Hospital on Sept. 14, 2023, for a call about a recording device found in an employee bathroom. The charge nurse told detectives with the North Kansas City Police Department that she was using the bathroom when she saw a pen on a plastic storage tote facing the toilet.

For three decades, Matthew David Keirans pretended to be someone else. He obtained a birth certificate, credit cards and worked as a high-level hospital administrator. He even tricked cops into thinking his victim was the one who stole his identity, forcing the victim into jail and a mental hospital because law enforcement deemed the man crazy.

But thanks to good detective work, Keirans decades-long scheme is over. A federal judge in the Northern District of Iowa sentenced Keirans to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to one count each of aggravated identity theft and false statement to a national credit union administration, the Department of Justice said Friday.

A Georgia man allegedly high on crack was found naked in a stroke patient’s room at an Atlanta hospital in a case of attempted sexual assault of a sleeping patient.

Shamon Pearce, 24, faces charges of aggravated assault, battery and misdemeanor sexual battery in the attack of the 47-year-old woman, online jail booking records show.

The incident happened on Sept. 27 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, police said. Nurses initially spotted Pearce smoking from a crack pipe in an elevator before he entered the room of a patient recovering from a stroke, reported Michael Seiden, with Atlanta’s ABC affiliate WSB, citing the police incident report.

One of the nation’ top children’s hospitals must pay $45,000 to settle a religious discrimination lawsuit filed by a maintenance worker who refused to get a flu shot for religious reasons.

DeMaurius Jackson worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) in Georgia as a maintenance assistant. According to court documents, Jackson’s duties primarily consisted of groundskeeping in outdoor parking lots, which required minimal interaction with the public. Jackson said his work involved no close proximity to patients, visitors, or staff.

According to Jackson’s complaint, he converted to Judaism in November of 2016. In 2017 and 2018, Jackson requested and received a religious accommodation exemption from the CHOA’s flu vaccination requirement. However, in 2019, the hospital denied Jackson’s written request and fired him.

Jackson filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employ­ment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and said that in addition to denying the exemption, his supervisor “began trying to convince Jackson not to convert, telling him he was not a ‘real Jew,’ calling him a gentile, and purposefully ordering pork products for employee appreciation lunches despite Jackson’s objections.”
