Drama and scorn ran rampant in a Michigan courtroom on Friday, where a convicted killer was shouted down by his victim’s family members before he could tender some formal condolences.

In June 2023, Sekou Conde, 24, repeatedly shot and killed Donrell Canda, 24, inside his own home – in front of the slain man’s son and girlfriend, according to the Ann Arbor Police Department.

In February, the defendant was convicted by a jury of his peers on all counts against him, including one count each of premeditated murder in the first degree, felony murder, and first-degree home invasion, as well as two counts of possession of a firearm during a felony.

On Friday, Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Carol Kuhnke sentenced Conde to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The sentence was small solace for the victim’s family.

“It’s hard for us as a family to even get together for holidays because a part of us is missing,” Stefan McCoy, Canda’s father, told the judge, according to a courtroom report by The Ann Arbor News. “A vital part of us is missing. Things don’t feel right no more.”

That part was taken from the family on the night of June 4, 2023, sometime after 10 p.m., when Conde confronted Canda as he was walking into his home on Sandalwood Circle “and opened fire,” according to a press release issued by the police department.

“The victim then entered his home where a 23-year-old female and his 3-year-old son were inside,” police wrote. “The suspect followed the victim into the home and fired additional shots.”

In the end, Canda was shot four times: once in each leg; once in the chest; once in the head, prosecutors told jurors during the trial.

Law enforcement said the killer and the victim knew one another; evidence presented during trial suggested the motive for the killing was artistic differences about a music album the two participated in – Canda is said to have cut Conde’s presence from the recording, the deceased man’s girlfriend testified, according to the Ann Arbor News.

Conde, for his part, disputed the proffered motive.

“Honestly, what type of reason would that be to murder someone?” Conde asked out loud when taking the stand in his own defense.

But jurors believed the state.

On April 11, before being sentenced, the since-condemned man reportedly complained that his conviction was unjust. He said the prosecution allowed someone to lie on the stand and that police committed errors during their investigation.

Then, he tried to speak up in court again, one last time, in an apparent effort to offer sympathy to Canda’s loved ones.

“Once again, I would like to say I give my –” Conde began before being cut off by Canda’s shouting family members, interrupting the defendant’s would-be soliloquy with: “Don’t say it, man” and “Save it.”

The judge, for her part, admonished the breach of decorum. She reprimanded the grieving family and gave Conde another opportunity to finish his statement – but, finally, he decided on silence.

“My heart is broke. Our hearts are broke,” McCoy reportedly added. “There is nothing I really can say that he even really give a care about.”

Man who fatally shot wife gets relatively light sentence

An Indiana husband who shot and killed his wife during a dangerous dispute aboard a truck that the victim was driving pleaded guilty this week and received a relatively light sentence — in real terms at least.

David Brinker Jr., 39, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of reckless homicide over the death of his wife, Dorothy Brinker, 36.

The incident occurred just over two years prior.

In the early morning hours on March 6, 2023, after a contemptuous night of communication over the phone, David Brinker and Dorothy Brinker were briefly in each others’ presence at their Oak Avenue residence in the Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis.

The night before, several times over, the husband angrily called his wife while she was out with friends, according to court records cited by Indianapolis-based Fox affiliate WXIN and NBC affiliate WTHR.

Dorothy Brinker was celebrating with her friends after a baby shower. David Brinker was upset because he believed she was out drinking while he was at home with their 6-month-old daughter.

Over the course of that evening, the wife told her friends she was possessed by a sense of dread due to her husband’s increasingly aggressive phone calls. But, eventually, she braved a penultimate trip.

Upon arriving, the argument over the ether morphed into an in-person confrontation and then a physical altercation. And, finally, death.

David Brinker renewed his complaints. So, Dorothy Brinker grabbed the keys to the couple’s pickup truck and fled. The man then grabbed his gun and gave chase — grabbing onto the truck’s bed. Somewhere amid the ensuing chaos, he shot into the truck’s cab and killed her.

The killer husband quickly admitted what he did — first to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers who were the first to arrive at the scene of the slaying. David Brinker said he was toting the gun with the intent of shooting the truck’s tires out. That plan went awry.

“I think I just killed my wife,” the defendant told responding officers — who noted that he had blood on his hands and sweatshirt.

To hear the husband tell it, his wife was drunk driving and he was trying to stop her. Then, when the truck stopped, he tried to reach inside and open the door, but didn’t realize his finger was on the trigger until he heard the fatal popping sound of the weapon.

After that, the man said, he watched his wife die.

Surveillance footage showed the truck driving down the road with the defendant hanging on. Then, when the truck stops, the man is heard yelling for the driver to get out. Next, the truck jerks forward, quickly followed by a gunshot and the man saying: “Are you OK?”

Prosecutors never charged him with murder, opting instead for the level 5 felony, the second-lowest level in the Hoosier State, from the start.

Since then, the defendant has been in a combination of pretrial detention and home confinement under strict bail conditions.

During the sentencing hearing, Marion County Superior Court Judge Charles Miller explained that a plea agreement between the prosecution and the defense precluded anything more than three years behind bars — while formally giving the killer a five-year sentence.

The plea deal, however, allowed the judge to suspend two of those years. Then, when considering the time spent between the Marion County Jail and home detention, as well as good behavior credit earned, David Brinker was ordered to spend 101 days in state prison.

The slain woman’s loved ones bemoaned the sentence.

“This city just said that if you shoot your wife in the middle of the street that you can get away with it pretty much,” Terry Conway, who is married to one of the victim’s cousins, said in comments reported by WXIN. “Your city just sent a really bad message. I don’t see how … I don’t get it. 100 days for killing your wife?”

The woman’s family initially cheered the sentencing — but that happiness quickly turned into audible tears as the reality of the plea deal and concomitant pre-trial detention credits set in, according to the TV station.

“Dorothy was very much forgotten in there,” Marie Garcia, the woman’s aunt, told WXIN. “Dorothy was made to be the bad person, a mother that went out with her friends was made to be literally made to be put as a bad person because she went out and had one night of fun with her friends. She knew something was going on that day, and there was more to this story than what was being told.”

Sleeping 9-year-old shot in drive-by caught on video

A 9-year-old boy in Atlanta was nearly shot to death while sleeping in his home over the weekend — with a bullet going through his back and into his leg, where it became lodged “close to a large artery” — during a drive-by shooting that saw his uncle return fire to “defend the family,” the victim’s aunt says.

“I was asleep,” the boy told local Fox affiliate WAGA on Saturday after being discharged from the hospital with the bullet still inside of him. “I was just crying because I was bleeding, and I didn’t know they were gunshots.”

The boy’s aunt, who asked to remain anonymous, said doctors told her the boy would be at risk of being paralyzed if they tried removing the bullet from his leg. He was shot early Saturday at around 3:45 a.m. by suspects in two different vehicles who were caught on surveillance video opening fire on his home.

“They said the bullet had went through his back and into his leg and the bullet is located close to a large artery, and if they removed it then he might not be able to walk,” the aunt said.

Footage obtained by WAGA shows the suspects pulling up on the child’s residence and stopping in front of it. They can be seen firing multiple shots at the home before speeding off in the two cars.

“My husband did return fire,” the aunt said. “We’re not sure if he hit anybody.”

At first, the family told WAGA they didn’t know whether anyone was hurt in the shooting, nor did they know if they were the intended targets. Another home that’s nearby has been targeted in multiple drive-by shootings, according to the aunt.

“Our house and the other house are identical,” she said. “My nephew, he was on the ground and I asked if he was okay, and he was bleeding from his back.”

Police say the boy was rushed to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospital after the shooting, where doctors were unable to remove the bullet from his leg. His aunt says they have to wait several weeks until they will know what to do.

“They have to give it a couple of weeks to monitor the bullet traveling so they can see if they can get him some surgery,” she told WAGA.

Wyoming mom shoots her 4 daughters in triple murder-suicide

The firm grip of horror took hold of multiple Wyoming families after a mother shot her four daughters before turning the gun on herself.

Midafternoon on Monday, Tranyelle Harshman, 32, called 911 to report the gunshots she fired at her own home on East Shoshone Avenue in Byron — a tiny town located roughly 415 miles northwest of Cheyenne — and some 90 miles due south of Billings, Montana.

The woman went on to report that her daughters had been shot, according to a press release issued by the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office.

“When dispatchers asked the status of the gunshot victims the female stated that she believed them to be deceased,” the sheriff’s office said.

Harshman also gave dispatchers a macabre guide to the violence they would encounter inside the unassuming home.

“Two children would be located upstairs in their cribs and two children would be located downstairs in their shared bedroom,” the press release reads. “The caller further stated she could be found in her upstairs bedroom and that she was going to do the same to herself.”

Attempts were made to slow things down. Those efforts failed.

“The dispatcher pleaded with the female caller over the phone for the female caller to remain on the line until responding units arrived,” the press release goes on. “The female caller stated multiple times that she could not do that and that it was too late. Multiple attempts to keep her on the line failed and the call was disconnected.”

When deputies and local law enforcement arrived, two girls were already dead: a 2-year-old and her 9-year-old half-sister died from gunshot wounds to the head. Another 2-year-old and her 7-year-old half-sister had also been shot in the head but managed to cling to life.

The toddler who first survived, however, “succumbed a very short time later due to the extent of her injuries,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The shooter was also “found to have signs of life” while suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said. The mother and the 7-year-old were both swiftly transported to North Big Horn Hospital. The girl was later airlifted to a hospital in Salt Lake City where she is currently “fighting hard for her life,” according to family members.

Harshman herself died on Tuesday afternoon.

The family had lived in the house for about a year before tragedy struck, a next-door neighbor told Cowboy State Daily. The neighbor recalled seeing the girls playing outside — where they would sometimes pet his dogs. The murderess, the neighbor said, appeared to be a homemaker and did not evidence any signs of mental turmoil.

“I wish I had known something was going on. I could have done something about it,” the man told the newspaper through tears. “Terrible. F–––ing terrible.”

Now, two fathers and the killer’s surviving family are grieving and trying to make sense of the tragic turn of events.

One GoFundMe was started to help the biological father and stepmother of the two older girls — particularly with medical expenses as the 7-year-old recovers from surgery.

“Olivia has suffered severe traumatic brain injury,” the first fundraiser reads. “All prayers and whatever higher faith or power you believe in are appreciated for the family at this time. If she does pull through this, she and the family have a very long road ahead of them, a lot of unknown right now. This loss and hurt is unimaginable. Please rally around Quinn and Katelynn as they prepare to bury one daughter and beg and pray that the other survives this horrible tragic event.”

Other funds will go toward the 9-year-old girl’s funeral expenses and travel for her parents to attend.

A second GoFundMe was started to help the widower — the father of the two younger girls — with various costs.

“This devastating event has left Cliff and his loved ones reeling in grief, struggling to come to terms with the immense void left in their lives,” the second fundraiser reads. “The financial burden of funeral expenses, ongoing family support, and other related costs only adds to their pain.”

In response to a request from Law&Crime, the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office said incident reports about the triple murder-suicide “aren’t finalized yet.”

Teen killed by man who urinated on grave of victim’s friend

A California man was found guilty this month of first-degree murder for killing a 17-year-old in Oakland while on an “escalating” crime spree that included carjackings, robberies and urinating on the grave of one of the victim’s friends for an Instagram video, according to prosecutors.

Jacobi Gaines, 23, was also convicted of three counts of gun possession, carjacking, robbery, vehicle theft and assault with a deadly weapon in connection to his six-week crime spree back at the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 — culminating in the murder of Hasan Humphries, according to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, which announced the conviction in a Friday press release.

Gaines, who was 18 at the time, was beefing with various people from Oakland as part of a reported gang rivalry, according to the East Bay Times. He posted videos and messages on Instagram, saying things like “kill or be killed” and violent rap lyrics, along with the urination video that was aimed at one of Humphries’ dead friends. It’s unclear how Gaines and Humphries knew each other.

“The testimony and evidence presented at trial showed that Mr. Gaines began his crime spree on or about December 2, 2019, with an escalating series of carjackings, robberies, and thefts, which culminated in the murder of Hassan Humphries, who was unarmed when he suffered two gunshot wounds by Mr. Gaines on January 13, 2020,” the DA’s office said.

Gaines’ cell phone placed him at the scene of the murder at the time it occurred, according to prosecutors. Evidence was also presented at trial showing how Gaines was driving a Audi A4 Quattro “with a custom black grille” that he stole during his crime spree and was spotted fleeing in after the murder.

“Additional evidence regarding motive included a video of Mr. Gaines urinating on the grave of one of the victim’s friends posted on social media,” prosecutors said.

“This verdict removes a dangerous person from our community,” Chief Assistant District Attorney Royl Roberts explained in a statement.

Gaines will face up to life in state prison when he’s sentenced next month. The hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20.

Man died at Fred Meyer after trying to stop purse-snatching

An Oregon man died trying to stop a purse-snatching, and now two teenagers are behind bars, according to police in the Beaver State.

Jonathan Trent, 47, was shopping at the Fred Meyer grocery store on Northeast 102nd Avenue in the Hazelwood neighborhood of northeast Portland on Jan. 13 when he happened upon the mugging outside, according to the Portland Police Department.

Then, the gunshots rang out.

By 3:50 p.m., officers arrived to find Trent in the parking lot. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Now, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old boy are being held in a juvenile lockup on charges of murder and robbery, police say. The teenagers are not being further identified as of this writing.

A GoFundMe for Trent’s son and mother was started by a family friend.

“Jon was a man of warmth, kindness, and joy who brought light to everyone around him,” the fundraiser reads. “He was a constant presence at the pool, supporting Justin and inspiring our community with his positivity and generous spirit. His loss has left a profound void in our hearts and in the lives of those who knew him.”

Police believe Trent was on his way out of the store when he witnessed the purse-snatching, tried to intervene, and was subsequently killed, according to The Oregonian. Law enforcement did not say where, exactly, the robbery was taking place.

“I speak for everyone at the Police Bureau when I say our hearts go out to Mr. Trent’s family and friends,” Police Bureau spokesman Mike Benner said in comments reported by the newspaper. “He went to the grocery store for a quick errand and should’ve returned home but he didn’t.”

The killer or killers are alleged to have shot the would-be hero as they fled the scene of the crime, police say.

At least one of Trent’s alleged killers is said to be known to law enforcement. The 16-year-old boy is also facing charges for a four-robbery spree that occurred in early January, according to police.

The dying man was discovered by another shopper as she and her husband left the store, one witness told the Oregonian. Fred Meyer staff then rushed out and a small crowd gathered around him.

One person cut Trent’s shirt open to check for injuries — but it was all too late. The man was no longer moving.

“It’s so very, very sad,” the witness told the newspaper.

Teen who shot woman at Walmart busted using Greyhound: Feds

A teenager from North Carolina who was on the run after allegedly shooting and killing a woman who was waiting in line at a bank inside of a local Walmart was busted this week trying to board a Greyhound bus in Chicago, according to authorities.

Ezekiel Burden, 17, was caught in the Windy City on Tuesday thanks to joint efforts by the Lumberton Police Department, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, United States Marshal Service and Chicago Police Department who all partnered in the arrest and investigation.

“Ezekiel Burden was arrested at a Greyhound Bus Station in Chicago, Illinois, by the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force after an informant provided the whereabouts of Burden,” NCSBI officials reported in a Wednesday press release.

Burden, of Lumberton, North Carolina, was wanted for first-degree murder, discharge of a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear and other charges related to the fatal Dec. 20 shooting of 42-year-old Brandy Nicole Olson at a Walmart Supercenter, according to the Lumberton Police Department. Burden’s buddy, Brian Campbell, 18, was charged with being an accessory after the fact. The two of them allegedly fled from the Walmart after the shooting, with Campbell turning himself in on Dec. 23.

Burden was allegedly trying to kill two other people he “knew” at the Walmart, according to police. He and Campbell appeared to be targeting two people who were standing at the Woodforest Bank located inside the Walmart, police said. Olson was also in line at the bank when she was shot.

Cellphone footage captured by a woman who was inside the Lumberton Walmart has audio where at least six gunshots can be heard ringing out from the front of the store near the bank where Olson was shot.

“The scariest s— I have ever experienced!” wrote Kayleann Brooke on Facebook, where she shared the video.

Another shopper, Steven Rumsey, told Raleigh CBS affiliate WNCN that Olson appeared to be trying to escape during the mayhem when she was accidentally struck by gunfire.

“When he started shooting, the lady ran in front of him,” Rumsey said.

DA charged for shooting at suspects during police pursuit

A district attorney in Tennessee is facing criminal charges for allegedly taking the law into his own hands — opening fire on wanted murder suspects as they fled from police — and accidentally striking a house with a woman and her three kids inside, according to local officials.

Chris Stanford, district attorney of Tennessee’s 31st Judicial District, was indicted Monday on charges of reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm into an occupied habitation for the November shooting in Smithville, which is about 70 miles east of Nashville. The incident occurred while authorities were attempting to arrest three suspects allegedly connected to a triple homicide, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which was responsible for probing what happened.

The Warren and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Departments were working together to catch 28-year-old Caleb Dias Brookins, 21-year-old Hannah McKenzi Rose and 28-year-old Jessica Root that day. The trio was suspected to be involved in a triple murder in Warren County but were in DeKalb County when Stanford linked up with police to try and catch them.

Sanford, 43, of McMinnville, was allegedly pursuing suspects Rose and Brookins with local deputies and a Homeland Security officer, who also joined in on the manhunt for unknown reasons and got hit by a car that Rose and Brookins were driving — causing him to suffer a leg injury — when the illegal shooting occurred, according to police officials.

“The female driving the car [Rose] rammed a DeKalb Sheriff’s Department truck,” said DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray in a statement to the Smithville Review newspaper. “They were trying to get away and ran up into a yard at a residence on Bell Street. It was at this time that District Attorney Stanford, who was on site, opened fire … but failed to hit the vehicle or the suspects.”

Brookins was caught by TBI agents hours later, while Rose was arrested at the scene.

“On Nov. 21, agents began investigating the incident involving 31st Judicial District Attorney General Christopher Robert Stanford,” TBI officials said Monday in a statement after Stanford’s indictment was handed down. “The investigation revealed that, during the pursuit of a wanted fugitive, Stanford fired a gun several times on Bell Street in Smithville, striking a home occupied by a woman and her three children.”

Stanford’s charges were brought during a special session of the DeKalb County Grand Jury on Monday through a sealed indictment, according to the Smithville Review.

He surrendered to police at the DeKalb County Jail and was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Photos posted on the DA’s official Facebook page show Stanford training with local police and firing guns at a shooting range.

His office said it was taking messages Tuesday when reached by Law&Crime, and was unable to provide a statement.

Suspects plead guilty in egging prank murder case: DA

A murder case in Georgia that stemmed from an alleged “lovers quarrel” and egging of the victim’s house is being wrapped up by prosecutors, with plea agreements being offered and accepted by two of the three suspects — and another deal waiting for the third, according to the DA’s office.

Sydney Maughon and McKenzie Davenport both pleaded guilty last month to charges related to the July 2023 shooting death of Johnathan Gilbert, according to the Spalding County District Attorney’s Office. Senior Assistant District Attorney Audrey Holliday told Law&Crime on Monday that Maughon entered a guilty plea for malice murder and Davenport pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanors stemming from her actions before the shooting. Jeremy Munson, the third suspect, had a deal offered to him and is currently waiting for his attorney to return from a “leave of absence” to accept or deny it, according to Holiday.

“He has been made an offer for voluntary manslaughter, but his attorney has been on a leave of absence, so his case has yet to be resolved,” Holliday said. “His offer has been extended until December 13, so there’s a possibility he could enter a plea on that day.”

Maughon, Munson, both 18 at the time, and Davenport, who was 19, allegedly went to Gilbert’s residence with the intentions of “egging” it — aka to throw eggs at it — in an act of revenge that stemmed from an “ongoing lovers quarrel,” according to the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office. Gilbert caught the trio in the act and tried confronting them about it, which led Maughon to open fire on him with a pistol she was carrying. Gilbert was unarmed and his body was left in the street.

“Because they all plotted and planned together and traveled to the location with the intent to commit a crime that led up to the murder together, they are all culpable just as if they had each pulled the trigger themselves,” Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix said in a 2023 press release. “They went to egg a house, the victim confronted them while they were doing it, he lost his life, and they drove off and left his body in the middle of the road. Together they bought that ticket; now, together, they can ride that ride.”

Maughon and Davenport appeared in court on Nov. 20 to enter their pleas, according to Holliday, with Maughon being sentenced immediately afterward.

“Maughon was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole,” Holliday said.

The young woman will have to wait until she is at least 30 years old before she is eligible for parole, according to the DA’s office. Munson currently faces charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Woman allegedly shoots boyfriend repeatedly then apologizes

A Texas woman was recently released from jail after she allegedly lured her longtime boyfriend to a field and then shot him repeatedly.

Alexys Pinto, 23, stands accused of one count of aggravated assault over the incident that left Elvis Munoz, 24, with multiple gunshot wounds across his body — and a bullet in his back for months.

The shooting occurred on Sept. 5. The victim, in recovery, has been struggling to come up with a reason for the violence ever since.

Pinto was initially upset with her boyfriend, a mechanic, on the day in question after one of his clients showed up at their residence with a car for him to work on, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Houston Police Department. When Munoz explained the nature of his work, Pinto allegedly flew into a higher state of rage — trying to hit her boyfriend and managing to kick one of their dogs.

Munoz intercepted the attack by grabbing his girlfriend’s wrists and advising calm, authorities say. This entreaty was a too-brief salve, however, as Pinto allegedly demanded to know why Munoz touched her before shifting her outward state on a dime to ask him if he recalled a specific place they once enjoyed the sunset together.

Munoz did remember the place, a field, he would later tell law enforcement. Pinto allegedly insisted he take her there immediately.

At the requested intersection of State Highway 288 and Airport Boulevard, Munoz stopped the car, according to the court document. Then, Pinto got out and began to run away down a hill. As Munoz called to her, she allegedly called back: “Come here!”

So, he did. Then he caught up with her. Then it got weirder.

“Teach me about deer hunting,” the woman allegedly said — prompting a question from her boyfriend just before he was shot in the chest.

The complaint relays what allegedly happened next:

“Stupid ass n—-“, can be heard from the Defendant as, “She straight shot me”. The Complainant stated Defendant was said to have held the black gun, in a tilted manner. Complainant stated he was in a state of disbelief, then thought he had to run away. The Complainant stated the Defendant shot at him again, when he turned around to face the Defendant, he received another hit on his other hand, from the gun held by the Defendant. Complainant stated he held his chest and ran from the Defendant. Complainant stated he slips and falls, then looks up at the sky, waiting for the Defendant to shoot him again. Complainant stated as he laid on the ground, bleeding and in pain, he thinks in what he feels are his final moments, “Oh my God, it’s not my time, what did I do, what did I do?”

Next, Munoz says Pinto called someone on her phone to lie and say he shot her. The injured man then shouted that he did no such thing.

“Call an ambulance baby, call the ambulance,” Munoz implored Pinto.

To which she allegedly replied: “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do you like that, I didn’t shoot you in the right places!”

Confused again, Munoz was still prepared for the worst. He then held his hand over his face as it appeared likely Pinto was gunning for the right place. This time, while protecting his head, he was shot in the hand.

Then, Munoz screamed for an ambulance again.

“I didn’t mean to do you like this, it was supposed to be quick,” Pinto allegedly replied.

Eventually, with some cajoling, Pinto allegedly helped the wounded man back into his truck before taking him to a nearby Citgo gas station where strangers got Munoz the help he needed.

Pinto was arrested on Sept. 20, after an unrelated disturbance call turned up the existence of a warrant for aggravated assault.

Bail in the case was originally set at $75,000 but recently lowered to $10,000. The state initially requested $50,000 bail and then upped their request to $1 million.

On the same day, Munoz got the bullet out of his back, Pinto got out of jail, according to Houston-based ABC affiliate KTRK.

“All I did was ever love her,” Munoz somberly told the TV station.

Now, the victim says he fears for the safety of his friends and family.

“She’s a danger to the community, to children, to family and friends and to me as well,” he told KPRC. “She’s not just a danger to me or my friends because she knows where several of my friends stay at home, but most importantly, my family. I have little nieces. My sister and nephew, My mom and my dad.”

Law enforcement has not floated a motive for the violence.

Munoz is perplexed himself.

“I have no idea,” he continued. “I’ve always worked hard to care for her as best as I could. Sometimes I wouldn’t even eat just for her to have a good plate of food. She’ll be jealous, controlling, she would isolate me from family and friends. She holds grudges.”
