Apartment complex on Clayton Avenue in Pittsburgh (WPXI).

A Pennsylvania man is behind bars for allegedly taking a clothes iron and burning 60% of his girlfriend’s body because he thought she was cheating on him.

Burton L. Byrd proceeded to hold the woman captive in their Pittsburgh appointment from Saturday to Tuesday, not allowing her to leave to seek medical attention, a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime said. When he did release the alleged victim, he told her to make up a story about being assaulted near a Wendy’s and threatened to hurt her family if she spoke the truth, according to the affidavit.

More from Law&Crime: ‘Hanging down his face’: Man rips out stranger’s eyeball after victim asks ‘how are you doing’ while walking past him, police say

Pittsburgh cops responded to the hospital around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday about a report of a possible domestic violence situation. The woman told police she and Byrd were at their apartment on Saturday when he accused her of infidelity.

“He figured he would punish me,” she told cops.

Byrd allegedly forced the woman to strip naked and tied her hands together with shoelaces. He began beating her with a belt and punching her in the face, cops said. Officers noted the woman had bruising around her eye and broken blood vessels in her right eye, suggesting she had been struck several times in the face.

The victim alleged that Byrd then plugged in the iron and started tapping it on her body. After saying the iron “wasn’t hot enough,” he proceeded to wait until it heated up and then held it on various body parts while demanding to know if she had relations with another man, police said.

“And I kept on saying no, I didn’t cheat on him,”” the woman recounted, according to the affidavit. “So after about maybe six times of him hitting me with the iron, I just made up a story telling him that I cheated on him just to get him to stop.”

The torturous attack occurred over a period of four hours, according to the affidavit. After he stopped burning her, he tried treating her injuries with gauze, cops said. She insisted on going to a hospital, but he allegedly wouldn’t let her. After going to one hospital, she was transferred to a hospital with a burn unit, cops said. The victim is expected to be in the hospital for at least two weeks.

Byrd is facing a slew of charges including aggravated assault, kidnapping, witness intimidation and false imprisonment. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.

An Arizona man is facing felony aggravated assault charges for an “unprovoked” attack he allegedly unleashed on a stranger, with cops saying he grabbed an individual from behind and “completely removed” their eyeball from the eye socket after the victim walked by and asked the suspect, “How are you doing?”

“The victim stated that during this incident he was in fear for his life and safety, believing that Daniel could have killed him,” police allege in court documents obtained by local Fox affiliate KSAZ, which outline the charges against Daniel Lanks, 39, who is accused of carrying out the attack on Monday, April 14, near 48th Street and Broadway Road, the station reports.

“The attack was completely unprovoked, and he did not threaten Daniel, challenge him, and did not have any form of weapons to be perceived as a threat,” the documents say, according to KSAZ. Lanks allegedly pummeled the victim with punches to his face after removing his eyeball, causing a fractured jaw.

“The victim stated this loss of the use of his right eye and fractured jaw will forever impact his quality of life and is unsure if he will be able to work again or perform many basic life functions,” the charging documents say.

Lanks was allegedly near a shop at the intersection of Broadway and 48th Street when the victim crossed his path early Monday at around 1 a.m., KSAZ and AZFamily report.

“How are you doing?” the victim allegedly asked him.

Police say Lanks responded by telling the man he would “whoop his a—” as the individual walked away from him.

More from Law&Crime: ‘Identification took some time’: 70-year-old woman found chopped up in closet, her body parts stowed away in over a dozen trash bags — son in custody, cops say

“Post Miranda, Daniel told detectives to shut the f— up and that he did not understand his rights,” per the court documents.

Lanks was booked on felony aggravated assault charges. He had been released from custody on his own recognizance just one week prior to the alleged attack for a separate arrest and charge of aggravated assault and organized retail theft for a prior incident that allegedly occurred in March, KSAZ reports.

Lanks is currently being held on a $500,000 for the April 14 attack.

He’s not accused of being on drugs, but a man named Edward Cocaine did allegedly wave a knife at employees after a confrontation at a Florida Subway restaurant.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey posted about the April 5 incident on Facebook.

“Clearly this guy, Edward Cocaine, (and yes that’s his real name) doesn’t know that in Brevard County, if you Mess Around you’re gonna Find Out…the hard way!!” Ivey wrote.

Cocaine, 45, and a friend went to the Subway on Merritt Island and felt he was being treated rudely by the employees, a probable cause arrest affidavit said. The friend wanted to leave but Cocaine allegedly wanted to address the perceived disrespect.

The defendant allegedly entered the employee area behind the counter, pushed past one employee and raised a knife as if he were about to stab someone, the complaint said.

“Yes folks, you read that correctly, he pulled out a knife and gestured as if he was going to injure them all because he didn’t like the way they spoke to him and his friend!!,” Ivey quipped.

Cocaine’s friend restrained him and the two left the restaurant, per cops. Using surveillance video, cops identified Cocaine’s friend’s truck. Deputies went to go speak to the friend who identified Cocaine as the perpetrator.

“According to Cocaine, that was him in the surveillance video and while his memory of the incident appeared to be a bit off from what Agents reviewed, he did acknowledge that pulling out a knife crossed the line of what is appropriate behavior!! I’d say that completely crossed the line and did dumb stuff that put others lives at risk!!,” Ivey said.

The suspect stands accused of two counts of aggravated assault, burglary with assault and battery. He has since posted a $17,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for May 6.

“He drove into a crowd of senior citizens,” Mark Offerman, a member of the group behind the protest, the Democratic Progressive Caucus in Palm Beach County — Trump’s home county — told The Palm Beach Post about the suspect, Andrew Dutil, who is charged with aggravated assault. He is said to have almost hit multiple people who were targeting the Palm Beach Tesla showroom on account of its relation to Musk, a Trump ally and unofficial leader of the “Department of Government Efficiency,” (DOGE) as well as its location.

“Everybody was able to move out, but two older women were really almost clipped,” Offerman said. “We immediately called the cops.”

Police say Dutil went after a crowd of more than 100 protesters at around 1 p.m. Saturday, though no one was injured in the attack. He allegedly drove a black Nissan Pathfinder directly at the crowd and then parked it on a nearby sidewalk, claiming its brakes and electronics had failed.

“Leave the car alone,” Dutil told protesters, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Employees said Dutil told them he “stands with Tesla” before walking out of the showroom, according to local ABC affiliate WPLG.

In addition to protests, people have allegedly been targeting Tesla vehicles, dealerships and charging stations with fire bombings and other types of attacks recently in response to how they feel about Musk and his relationship with Trump and DOGE. At least three individuals have been arrested so far, with Attorney General Pam Bondi announcing charges against them last week in a Department of Justice press release and statement.

“All three defendants will face the full force of the law for using Molotov cocktails to set fire to Tesla cars and charging stations,” the DOJ release said. One defendant, who was allegedly armed with a suppressed AR-15 rifle, was arrested after reportedly throwing eight Molotov cocktails at a dealership located in Salem, Oregon. Another was arrested in Loveland, Colorado, after they attempted to firebomb multiple Teslas with Molotov cocktails.

More from Law&Crime: Fire chief admits he ‘kind of’ lost control when he threw baby to ground, fracturing skull, cops say

“The defendant was later found in possession of materials used to produce additional incendiary weapons,” the release said. “In Charleston, South Carolina, a third defendant wrote profane messages against President Trump around Tesla charging stations before lighting the charging stations on fire with Molotov cocktails.”

Bondi has condemned the Tesla attacks as a “wave of domestic terrorism” and vowed to put those involved behind bars.

Offerman said the DPC protesters on Saturday were trying to send a peaceful message that they’re furious with how things have been going with Musk and the Trump administration.

“We’re outraged and we’re appalled,” Offerman told the Post, before explaining the protesters’ intentions with targeting the Palm Beach County showroom, where demonstrations are planned through April. “Mar-a-Lago is here. Trump is here. This is his home. We have big problems with the way that our government functions, and find it very anti-American. So we want to wake people up, and we’re taking on this national call.”

Dutil has been booked at the Palm Beach County jail and is being held without bond as he awaits his next court date in April.

Tiffany Perkins (Polk County Sheriff’s Office).

A Florida woman is behind bars after stealing electricity and siccing her large dog on utility workers who confronted her, according to law enforcement in the Sunshine State.

Tiffany Perkins, 28, stands accused of myriad crimes including one count each of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, creating or maintaining a nuisance, keeping a nuisance, larceny related to a utility, grand theft, animal cruelty, burning unpermitted materials, operating an unpermitted landfill, misusing the 911 system, resisting an officer with violence, resisting without violence, as well as two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

The incident occurred Feb. 25 at a residence on Sugar Pine Loop in Lake Wales – a medium-sized city in central Florida, according to a press release issued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy arrived at the home late in the morning in response to a call from two Duke Energy workers, the sheriff’s office said.

The energy company’s employees were at Perkins’ residence to investigate what appeared to be possible theft of utilities, according to law enforcement.

The defendant allegedly did not appreciate the inquiry.

“Tiffany released her dogs at them,” the sheriff’s office wrote in the press release – alleging Perkins used her dogs to attack the utility workers.

More Law&Crime coverage: ‘Not a motherly thing to do’: Florida woman allegedly caught hiding runaway teenage boy she wanted to adopt in a condo where ‘the two would drink alcohol together’

After the deputy arrived and began to speak with her, however, Perkins allegedly called 911 herself.

“As the deputy moved toward Tiffany to arrest her, he was attacked by a Great Dane, causing injury to his arm and eye,” the sheriff’s office alleged.

Later, additional deputies arrived.

More Law&Crime coverage: ‘I ain’t hard to find’: Florida woman and sheriff’s office engaged in social media taunting battle over warrant

The defendant allegedly continued to resist arrest, however, and was subsequently Tasered, according to law enforcement sources cited by Tampa-based Fox affiliate WTVT.

Eventually, Perkins was taken into custody.

“The investigation determined that Tiffany was indeed stealing electricity from Duke Energy after they had cut the power from her home,” the sheriff’s office press release continues. “Animal Control responded and recovered a second Great Dane that was in extremely poor health. Both Great Danes were removed from the property.”

The defendant was also charged with improper waste tire disposal, having an open septic tank, and trespass that does not involve a structure or a conveyance.

Perkins is currently being detained in the Polk County Jail on a combined $48,500 bond, sheriff’s office records show.

Inset: Alexys Pinto (Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office). Background: The intersection where Pinto allegedly shot her boyfriend (Google Maps).

A Texas woman was recently released from jail after she allegedly lured her longtime boyfriend to a field and then shot him repeatedly.

Alexys Pinto, 23, stands accused of one count of aggravated assault over the incident that left Elvis Munoz, 24, with multiple gunshot wounds across his body — and a bullet in his back for months.

The shooting occurred on Sept. 5. The victim, in recovery, has been struggling to come up with a reason for the violence ever since.

Pinto was initially upset with her boyfriend, a mechanic, on the day in question after one of his clients showed up at their residence with a car for him to work on, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Houston Police Department. When Munoz explained the nature of his work, Pinto allegedly flew into a higher state of rage — trying to hit her boyfriend and managing to kick one of their dogs.

Munoz intercepted the attack by grabbing his girlfriend’s wrists and advising calm, authorities say. This entreaty was a too-brief salve, however, as Pinto allegedly demanded to know why Munoz touched her before shifting her outward state on a dime to ask him if he recalled a specific place they once enjoyed the sunset together.

Munoz did remember the place, a field, he would later tell law enforcement. Pinto allegedly insisted he take her there immediately.

At the requested intersection of State Highway 288 and Airport Boulevard, Munoz stopped the car, according to the court document. Then, Pinto got out and began to run away down a hill. As Munoz called to her, she allegedly called back: “Come here!”

So, he did. Then he caught up with her. Then it got weirder.

“Teach me about deer hunting,” the woman allegedly said — prompting a question from her boyfriend just before he was shot in the chest.

The complaint relays what allegedly happened next:

“Stupid ass n—-“, can be heard from the Defendant as, “She straight shot me”. The Complainant stated Defendant was said to have held the black gun, in a tilted manner. Complainant stated he was in a state of disbelief, then thought he had to run away. The Complainant stated the Defendant shot at him again, when he turned around to face the Defendant, he received another hit on his other hand, from the gun held by the Defendant. Complainant stated he held his chest and ran from the Defendant. Complainant stated he slips and falls, then looks up at the sky, waiting for the Defendant to shoot him again. Complainant stated as he laid on the ground, bleeding and in pain, he thinks in what he feels are his final moments, “Oh my God, it’s not my time, what did I do, what did I do?”

Next, Munoz says Pinto called someone on her phone to lie and say he shot her. The injured man then shouted that he did no such thing.

“Call an ambulance baby, call the ambulance,” Munoz implored Pinto.

To which she allegedly replied: “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do you like that, I didn’t shoot you in the right places!”

Confused again, Munoz was still prepared for the worst. He then held his hand over his face as it appeared likely Pinto was gunning for the right place. This time, while protecting his head, he was shot in the hand.

Then, Munoz screamed for an ambulance again.

“I didn’t mean to do you like this, it was supposed to be quick,” Pinto allegedly replied.

Eventually, with some cajoling, Pinto allegedly helped the wounded man back into his truck before taking him to a nearby Citgo gas station where strangers got Munoz the help he needed.

Pinto was arrested on Sept. 20, after an unrelated disturbance call turned up the existence of a warrant for aggravated assault.

Bail in the case was originally set at $75,000 but recently lowered to $10,000. The state initially requested $50,000 bail and then upped their request to $1 million.

On the same day, Munoz got the bullet out of his back, Pinto got out of jail, according to Houston-based ABC affiliate KTRK.

“All I did was ever love her,” Munoz somberly told the TV station.

Now, the victim says he fears for the safety of his friends and family.

“She’s a danger to the community, to children, to family and friends and to me as well,” he told KPRC. “She’s not just a danger to me or my friends because she knows where several of my friends stay at home, but most importantly, my family. I have little nieces. My sister and nephew, My mom and my dad.”

Law enforcement has not floated a motive for the violence.

Munoz is perplexed himself.

“I have no idea,” he continued. “I’ve always worked hard to care for her as best as I could. Sometimes I wouldn’t even eat just for her to have a good plate of food. She’ll be jealous, controlling, she would isolate me from family and friends. She holds grudges.”

Have a tip we should know? [email protected]

A Florida man and woman are behind bars after they allegedly attacked a man who wanted to have sex while tied up on the beach.

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, a “frantic” man flagged down a Volusia County Sheriff’s deputy around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of Ocean Shore Boulevard in Ormond by the Sea. He was bleeding heavily throughout his body. The man told a deputy he had been jumped by a man and woman on the beach.

He said he and a woman, later identified as 18-year-old Alana Cagle, agreed to come to the beach where she would tie him up and then have sex, the affidavit said. Cagle picked him up at his home and they drove to Bicentennial Park where they parked the car and walked to the beach, he stated. When they got to the beach he started to feel “odd vibes” from Cagle because she was sitting about 5 feet away from him. Nonetheless, she took out a yellow rope that she brought with her and began to tie him up.

It was at this point that the victim saw another man approaching them, the affidavit said. He tried to untie himself but Cagle jumped on top of his legs. He was able to fight her off and began to run away. But the other man, later identified as 24-year-old Wayne Streeter, tracked him down and tackled him. Streeter allegedly began choking him while Cagle punched him in the face. Per deputies, Cagle then pulled out a hatchet and began hitting him with it all over his body.

The victim was able to fight off both of the suspects and ran to get help, according to authorities. He described Cagle’s vehicle and deputies pulled her over nearby with Streeter inside, they said. There allegedly was also a backpack that the victim had left behind. Deputies tried speaking with Cagle but she requested a lawyer, they said. Post Miranda, Streeter told detectives that he and Cagle are boyfriend-girlfriend. Streeter said that Cagle picked him up and they drove to the beach. He then claimed he saw a man he did not know push Cagle down on the beach and he went to save her. Streeter said there were no weapons used but he admitted to choking the victim, the affidavit stated.

Deputies went to the beach where they found blood and the yellow rope used to tie up the victim. He suffered several lacerations and “multiple long cuts” to his abdomen. Paramedics took him to the hospital where doctors treated his injuries.

Cops arrested Cagle and Streeter on aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charges. Both have since posted a $5,000 bond. They have court dates scheduled for Nov. 26.

A few days before 17-year-old Connor Hilton posted $1 million bail and walked out of jail for allegedly shooting one fellow teenager in Texas and critically wounding another, he posted a video of himself on social media rapping, “you better run or you ’bout to meet my gun.”

The double shooting, according to statements from the Friendswood Police Department reviewed by Law&Crime, happened on Dec. 23 at around 9 p.m. in a suburban neighborhood outside of Houston. When police arrived on the scene, they said Hilton, 17, had allegedly shot two individuals, Ethan Riley, 18, and a 19-year-old victim who has not yet been identified by police.

Both Riley and the other victim were sent to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.

On Dec. 24, Hilton was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with bodily injury and booked into the Galveston County Jail. His bond was set at $1 million and he posted it by midday, local ABC affiliate KTRK first reported.

But once one of his victims, Ethan Riley, 18, died in the hospital, District Attorney Jack Roady upgraded the charges to murder, arrest records reviewed by Law&Crime show.

Though Hilton spent Christmas Day with his family, by that evening, police had rearrested him on the more serious murder charge. He remains in jail and it does not appear a new bond has been issued. Other terms are also unclear at this time.

When his bond conditions were first set, notably they did not include GPS monitoring nor any other conditions aimed at “extra security for the community given the violent actions of Hilton,” the Friendswood Police Department noted on Facebook.

Details of what motivated Hilton to allegedly shoot Riley and the other man is unclear, though there seemed to be a disturbing precursor to events on Hilton’s social media according to KTRK. The outlet found an Instagram video where Hilton recorded himself rapping the lyrics “you better run or you ’bout to meet my gun.”

Though Hilton is 17, he is likely to be tried as an adult in Texas given the severity of the charge.
